Monologues Take Aim At Chinese Spy Balloon

Late night talk shows followed the U.S. Military’s lead and shot at the Chinese spy balloon, which was seen off the coast South Carolina this weekend.

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” could not resist the temptation of taking target practice on the balloon. This is an airline that has been synonymous with tragically misplaced flights.

Fallon joked that the balloon “flew all the way from Montana through South Carolina.” “It somehow got across the country quicker than anyone traveling on Southwest.”

Fallon also noted the irony in an F-22 jet vs. balloon. “Instead of a Medal, the Pilot who popped the balloon got any stuffed animal on top shelf — I’ll Take SpongeBob… No, I’ll Take Bluey.”

“Late Night with Seth Meyers” explored the political aspect of the balloon incident.

Meyers stated that President Biden will deliver his State of the Union Address tomorrow. “It is not a good sign that he can only say the state of our union has balloon-free.”

“The Late Late Show with James Corden” brought Balloon-gate closer to home.

“On the bright side: if your child’s birthday balloon explodes and they are upset, you can tell them, “No, Timmy, that was a Chinese spy balloon.” The Chinese cannot spy anymore on us. You are a patriot!”
