“Before UnionTech began cooperating, shoe mold production and processing was done using the traditional epoxy resin material. The production of one shoe mold requires a series of processes including pattern (master pattern) preparation, mold frame construction, parting surface selection, release agent application, mixing & pouring, resin curing & mold splitting, epoxy resin mold aftertreatment, mold assembling, and mold testing. This is a time-consuming process that requires a lot of labor. Additionally, there are concerns about the quality of the mold, how the shoe pattern will look, and so on.

—Fernando, relevant responsible person of Dakota

Dakota is a well-known Brazilian shoemaking business that sells worldwide. The traditional production process is no longer able to meet the demands of large-scale enterprises with high development requirements. Dakota is now able to improve efficiency by using the FL660, a highly efficient and intelligent 3D printer. It used to take nearly 10 hours to make a shoe mold. The FL660 can now operate 24 hours per day, without the need for supervision, which improves the overall efficiency by almost 60%. Fernando considers it a miracle of technology-mediated production.

UnionTech’s 3D printing technology has allowed us to create delicate patterns for our shoe models. To make shoes look more beautiful, we used to have to do extra modifications by hand. Today we can print exquisitely patterned shoe models directly to make even more beautiful shoes to please our customers.

—Fernando, relevant responsible person of Dakota

Dakota learned about the reliability of UnionTech 3D printing solutions with printers of exceptional quality, super-convenient printing software and various applications for 3D printing material through this collaboration. Fernando, Dakota’s responsible individual, said that Dakota had previously bought other 3D printers, but decided to discontinue cooperation due to poor quality and unsatisfactory devices. Fernando stated that there is more potential for 3D printing technology to develop in the future, and that it will lead to a new era of digital production.
