LIUX unveils the first 3D-printed electric vehicle based on a plant.

Santa Pola-based sustainable automobile company LIUX has unveiled a new electric car, Animal.

Animal is made from 90% recycled and plant-based material. The vehicle’s interiors, as well as the body and chassis, are made with bio-polymer based organic fibers. This vehicle is 25% smaller in pieces and material than other cars. The body panels are made from 3D printed molds and then press molded to reduce emissions by 50%.

The vehicle’s top speed is 200 km/h, and its peak power is 240cv.

The body panels are made of a material called “Amphibian Skin,” which is made of cork, linen, reinforced linen, primer, and paint. The vehicle’s chassis is made from recycled aluminum by 3D printing technology. These technologies can reduce manufacturing times by up to 70% and lower energy and CO2 emissions.

“A large part of the outer bodywork will be made of vegetable fibers, especially flax, formed and molded with the help of vegetable resins. The objective is that 90% of the resins are based on soy and other organic elements,” said LIUX and added, “The objective is to run small factories, with the capacity to produce about 25,000 units per plant and to place different factories in different geographical areas, close to demand.”

And also, electric vehicle usage data feeds Liux’s artificial intelligence engines, which provide continuous evolutionary improvement and limitless possibilities. The vehicle can be connected to a 5G network and Android.
