Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch price drops after a year of no sales

  • Zorro Ranch was previously owned by Jeffrey Epstein. It has since dropped from $27.5million to $18million after more than a year.
  • This 7,500-acre property includes stables, an air strip, and multiple residences.
  • Realtor reported that it was the most expensive New Mexico home before the price drop.

Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch, once the most expensive house in New Mexico, was sold for a significant discount after it remained on the market unsold for more than a year.

After his suicide at Metropolitan Correctional Center, in 2019, the disgraced former financier left behind a large real estate portfolio. According to a Realtor report, the property’s New Mexico home of 7,500 acres was originally listed at $27.5 million in June 2021. However, it has dropped to $18million since then.

According to the Realtor listing, the 33,339-square foot mansion spent 514 days at the property as of Sunday.

Insider reported that Epstein bought the land in 1993. The sprawling compound has multiple residences, stables as well as an air strip and hangar. It is located approximately 35 minutes from Santa Fe.

The New Mexico home of the convicted sex criminal has proved difficult to unload. However, his properties in New York City were easier to sell than those in Palm Beach.

Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse sold for almost $40 million less than its original asking price in March 2021. His Palm Beach home was sold to a developer in the previous year for $18 million.

Dolly Lenz is the founder and CEO Dolly Lenz Real Estate. She explained to Realtor why Zorro Ranch has been harder to sell than Epstein’s other luxury properties.

Realtor Lenz said that New York City and Palm Beach were blessed by world-class locales, addresses, grandeur, scale, and yet they were priced very well to quickly sell.

She said, “Even though all homes will be stained by horrible juju forever, the below-market sale prices made them very attractive indeed and too good for me to pass up.”
