Dr. Fauci Talks Out on RSV, COVID and Flu.
Sunday was a warning from Dr. Anthony Fauci about the current flu epidemic, which includes RSV, COVID and flu.
Fauci encouraged Americans to get vaccinated against the flu and coronavirus during CBS News’ Face the Nation. Margaret Brennan was told by Fauci that you should vaccinate against the flu and COVID.
Fauci, who is acting head of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will be officially retiring in one week.
He encouraged Americans to be cautious during holidays to reduce the spread of diseases.
Although COVID-19 is down, younger people have been affected by respiratory syncytial viruses, also known as RSV.
Experts say that the disease is most common in young children. It spread quickly because it was not contagious by other illnesses.
Fauci stated that RSV is not a vaccine and it can be particularly dangerous for children under five years old and older. You can prevent RSV from spreading to others by staying home and wearing a mask.
He also mentioned that it is important to get a COVID booster in these cases.
Keep up with your boosters. Fauci explained that protection wanes more for infections than for severe disease. However, it does wane.
