Elon Musk does not respond to Austin’s $600K Statue Surfaces
Elon Musk, the billionaire Tesla and Twitter CEO, has yet to respond to a 12,000-pound sculpture made of metal in Austin, Texas. The sculpture has his head atop a goat riding on a rocket.
According to Wall Street Journal, the sculpture was purchased by crypto enthusiasts at a cost of $600,000
The statue, which measures 30 feet and weighs 12,000 pounds, was unveiled Saturday outside Tesla’s headquarters as part of an event called “Goatsgiving” by Elon GOAT creators.
According to Elon GOAT’s website, the statue was created in honor of Musk “contribution towards cryptocurrency.” GOAT is an acronym that stands for the “greatest ever”
Ashley Sansalone, a self-described Musk fan, and a team that included Alec Wolvert, Richie Latimer, designed the statue to promote their cryptocurrency.
“We dedicated this statue to [Elon Musk] Latimer explained that he was able to step in for crypto at a good moment and blow everything up,” Latimer added. “With everything that he has done. [cryptocurrencies] Doge and Baby Doge were among the coins we chose to use. We also decided to make a difference and do something more than just to give him something.
Elon GOAT token tweeted footage from Saturday’s delivery in Austin. It featured the billionaire dancing and promoting a party revealing this statue.
Kevin Stone, a Canadian metal sculptor, designed the head. Journal says it took almost six months for the head to be assembled. To speed up construction, Phoenix also provided the other welded parts.
Twitter user Elon GOAT Token expressed disappointment at Musk’s failure to acknowledge the crowd-funded sculpture. They claimed that Musk is “testing us” with this statue.
