Elon Musk’s Head on a Goat, Riding a Rocket. It failed to capture his attention

  • Musk’s sculpture was created by Elon GOAT Token, a group of cryptocurrency entrepreneurs.
  • Tesla Headquarters received today the 12,000 lb, 30-ft statue Musk’s head mounted on a goat body riding a rocket.
  • Musk didn’t respond, even though the statue was intended to get his attention.

The “Goatsgiving” cryptocurrency entrepreneurs failed to catch Musk’s eye after spending over $600,000 on a 30-foot-long, 12,000-pound steel sculpture of Elon Musk riding on a goat’s back and delivering it to Tesla headquarters.

Ashley Sansalone, a self-described Musk enthusiast, created the statue along with a team including Alec Wolvert & Richie Latimer to promote their cryptocurrency, Elon GoAT Token. They hoped that Musk would recognize their efforts and increase the value of their digital asset.

USA Today’s Latimer stated that the statue was dedicated to Elon Musk. “He stepped in for crypto when it was at a good point, and blew everything up,” Latimer said. “We decided to do the same thing as him, but go above and beyond to help him with (cryptocurrencies) Doge and Baby Doge.

Musk was seen strutting the statue around Texas for several days, before it was “delivered” in Austin at the Tesla headquarters on Saturday during a “Goatsgiving” event that was meant to attract Musk’s attention.

Musk still had not acknowledged the publicity stunt to honor him at 10 p.m.

Insider reached out to Elon GOAT Token representatives, Ashley Sansalone, the founder of the company, and Alec Wolvert, chief marketing officer. They did not immediately reply to Insider’s request for comment.

Telegram’s Elon GOAT Token Community expressed disappointment at Musk’s failure to acknowledge the crowd-funded statue in his image. Users vented their frustration on Twitter and in person, while others speculated that Musk was “definitely embracing” the project since Tesla security had not taken the statue out of its gates.

Insider asked for comment from Elon Musk, but representatives of Tesla didn’t immediately respond.
