After being injured in the Jerusalem blasts, a second Israeli is killed
A man in Israel died Saturday after sustaining injuries from an accident. Jerusalem was struck by twin blasts earlier in the week, bringing to two the death toll from explosions Israeli police blamed for Palestinians.
Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, announced that Tadesse Tshome Ben Madeh had passed away. One of the blasts that struck the bus stops in the city left him critically injured.
“The Shaare Zedek trauma and intensive-care teams fought for his safety, but unfortunately his injury proved fatal,” the hospital stated.
The first explosion happened Wednesday, near a crowded bus stop just outside the city. About half an hour later, the second explosion occurred in Ramot in the city’s northern suburbs. Aryeh Schupak (15), a dual Israeli/Canadian national, was on his way to a Jewish seminary and was killed by one of the blasts.
About 17 Israelis were also injured by the blasts.
Car rammings are a common Palestinian crime. Shootings Since the collapse of the Palestinian uprising almost two decades ago, bombings have been rare in recent years.
The Jerusalem explosions were not caused by any Palestinian group.
